Tax treaty between The Netherlands and Panama has been signed

The Netherlands and Panama signed a tax treaty on 6 October 2010. It is expected that the tax treaty will become into force in 2011. The main features of the tax treaty are described below.
Deduction of input VAT: to be accounted for in the correct VAT return

Dutch invoicing regulations – which are based on EU Directives – prescribe that invoices should be issued by ultimately the fifteenth day following the month in which the goods or services were supplied and should be accounted for in the VAT return over said period. The same mutatis mutandis applies to VAT incurred.

On August 25, 2010, the new tax treaty between the Netherlands and Japan was signed in Tokyo.
Hong Kong and the Netherlands sign tax treaty

On 22 March 2010, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong, Professor K C Chan, and the Minister of Finance of the Netherlands, Mr J C de Jager, signed a comprehensive agreement for avoidance of double taxation (CDTA) between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Netherlands and Mexico have agreed on a change of their tax treaty. The amending protocol, signed on 11 December 2008, to the income tax treaty and protocol between the Netherlands and Mexico of 27 September 1993, will enter into force on 31 December 2009. The amending protocol generally applies from 1 January 2010.
