Work experience

My career started in 1996 in the international tax advisory practice of Arthur Andersen. In 2001 I made the switch to the multinational TNT NV where I worked successively in various international positions and gained broad experience with all fiscal aspects of a listed multinational, in directly supporting the Executive Board in strategic projects (project management, tax, governance, corporate secretarial, strategy and merger and acquisitions) as well as with the  heart of the operations of the transport company.

In 2008 I returned to the tax advisory practice. As a Multinational Tax partner at Ernst & Young (EY) I used the knowledge and experience to advise clients in addition to general tax advice in the field of the organization of the tax function and tax risk management. My clients were both international companies and large Dutch SME companies and corporations. In addition, I managed EY's Executive Office for 2 years and supported the Executive Board in strategic projects.

From 2013-2016 I fulfilled my "own" entrepreneurship ambitions. I continued my advice on an interim basis, including advising and supporting a Supervisory Board during an acquisition and post-acquisition integration period. In addition, as an active investor or shareholder in various (start-up) companies, I have become involved in all facets of starting, building up and selling a company.

I graduated in 1996 as a tax lawyer and business law (corporate law) lawyer at the University of Leiden. I then completed the professional training of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB), the Finance training at the London Business School, various strategy modules at the Rotterdam School of Management and a wide range of tax, legal and other 'permanent education' training courses.
