We are a specialist in the area of international labor and cross border assignments.
We provide a wide range of services to individuals who have been temporarily assigned to the Netherlands. We also assist employers with matters pertaining to international labor and cross border assignments.
Foreign nationals who are assigned to the Netherlands will require assistance with handling their Dutch tax affairs. Sometimes an expatriate requires tailor-made advice on his/her personal situation and the tax consequences of the immigration/emigration, but in many cases tax advice is not required/desired but only somebody who can take care of filing the annual income tax return and handle related compliance matters.

Representation in tax audits and tax litigation
Because of our knowledge of tax law and our experience as tax advisors, we are asked by our clients on a regular basis to represent them in audits of the tax authorities, negotiations with the tax inspector and tax litigation.
It is nowadays not always easy to keep a good relationship with the tax inspector and sometimes meaningless discussions can easily escalate in a no-winners conflict. Our knowledge of tax law and our experience with dealing with the tax office, helps us to contain a good relationship with the tax inspector and to avoid useless conflicts and court procedures.
If we have to go to court for a client, or if we have to negotiate a compromise, we are in many cases prepared to do this on "no cure - no pay" basis.

In the Netherlands it is possible to obtain certainty in advance on taxation matters (tax rulings). In many discussions with the tax authorities it appears that the tax inspector has not interpreted relevant facts and circumstances correctly. Per definition the tax inspector has a lack of information and is dependent on the information provided by you or your tax advisor. Discussions with the tax inspector often escalate as a result of a wrong understanding of facts and circumstances. Such discussions can easily get out of control and result in tax assessments which you then have to fight in court.
